Lynn Talbot's beautifully mysterious compositions. Her still-lives are meticulously composed and painted with skill, but a higher power than craft illuminates her works.

UPDATE: I always refer to Harnett for certain things; he is so meticulous and mysterious. I was just ruminating on the European still life tradition being basically religious in nature but Harnett and his contemporaries being sly social commentators, a more important role than they are given credit for, as part of creating a tradition of American secular thinking. --LT
